Boobies!

Boobies!

My daughter has recently figured out that one day she and her brother will grow up and get “big” like me and my husband are. As a result, she has been particularly vocal about the fact that she cannot wait to have “big boobies like Mommy.” She’s also pointed out that “one day my brother’s penis will be big like daddy’s.” I apologize to my husband for putting this on the internet. But let’s all have a good laugh about that one.

Seriously though, just stop. Stay little. Stop wanting to look like mommy. Just be adorable and innocent for as long as you can, until it’s actually socially required to grow up.

I know that all of us parents have to acknowledge (begrudgingly, at most times) that our kids are growing up. And it’s all happening way too fast. We can’t add time to our clocks. There will always be 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes to an hour, 24 hours in a day, 7 days a week, and 52 weeks in a year.

So, how about we not speed up the parts that we actually do have control over? Boobies – we have lots of time for those. You’ve got a lifetime ahead of you to worry about those boobies. Trust me, you won’t always like them.

Be small. Not forever. I know that can’t be. But for now, let’s just stay as we are and be happy that way.

Plus you’ll be saving mommy and daddy a few aneurysms.

Happy weekend, friends!
